Optional Hardware

The M2.5 plastic pillars and hardware that come with the OSOYOO Pie Robot kit are difficult to use and ensure that they aren't being cross-threaded. When building the PiBot, it is recommended to use brass pillars and zinc-plated or stainless steel hardware instead. Below is a list of the optional hardware with quantity required for one robot. Uxcell is a reasonable quality brand with good prices on Amazon.

Spare Supplies

The supplies that come with the kit may get lost or used up so it is also a good idea to keep some spares on hand. The list below identifies the supplies that are used for the lessons.

  • 16GB micro-SD Card
    • Sandisk Ultra cards are a good choice
  • 18650 Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Batteries
  • 18650 Lithium-Ion Battery Charger
  • 3cm wide Black Tape

Extra Supplies

There are some additional supplies that are useful for some of the lessons. Below is a list of the extra supplies and which lessons use them.

  • 3/16 inch White Foam Board
    • 20 inch by 30 inch size is a good size. It is easy to handle and can be expanded for larger areas. 24 inch by 36 inch is also a good size.
    • If the foam board is warped use wood glue or elmers glue to glue two pieces flat against each other with the warps in the opposite direction and weight down while the glue dries.
  • 4mm or 3/16 inch Corrugated Plastic Yard Signs (Coroplast)
    • 18 inch by 24 inch standard size. It is easy to handle, can be expanded for larger areas and is more stable than the foam board.
    • If the corrugated plastic yard sign is warped use plastic safe adhesive to glue two pieces flat against each other with the warps in the opposite direction and weight down while the glue dries.
  • 12 inch x 6 inch x 2 inch Styrofoam Blocks
    • Challenge 2
