====== Procedure ======

Follow the steps below to change the filament of the 3D printer to a new type

  - Heat the nozzle up to the printing temperature of the [[3dprinter:materials|material]] in the machine
    - Push the knob on the display
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Temperature entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Nozzle entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right until the correct temperature is displayed and push the knob
    - Wait until the nozzle temperature reaches the temperature you set
  - Retract the extruder by 100mm
    - Push the knob on the display
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Motion entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Move Axis entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Extruder entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Move 10mm entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the left until it reaches -100 and push the knob
    - Wait for the extruder motor to stop turning
  - Push up on the lever of the extruder and pull the remaining filament out of the tube
  - Wrap the free end of the filament around the spool and put it away
  - Set the hot-end temperature to the printing temperature of the [[3dprinter:materials|new material]]
    - Push the knob on the display
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Temperature entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Nozzle entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right until the correct temperature is displayed and push the knob
  - Verify that the end of the new filament is clean
    - If it is not, use the cutters to cut a small section off of the end to get a clean end\\ \\ <WRAP round tip>If you cut the filament at an angle it will be easier to push into the extruder</WRAP>
  - Put the new spool on the machine
  - Push up on the lever of the extruder and push the end of the new filament into the tube
  - Hold the lever of the extruder up and push the filament in until it stops
  - Verify that the hot-end temperature is at the correct temperature
  - Extend the extruder until you see material come out of the end of the nozzle
    - Push the knob on the display
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Motion entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Move Axis entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Extruder entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Move 10mm entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right until it reaches +50
    - Wait for the extruder motor to stop turning
    - If new filament hasn't started coming out of the nozzle then turn the knob to the right until it does
    - Press the knob
  - Set the hot-end temperature to 0
    - Turn the knob to the left to scroll up to the Move Axis entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the left to scroll up to the Motion entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the left to scroll up to the Main entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Temperature entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the right to scroll down to the Nozzle entry and push the knob
    - Turn the knob to the left until the temperature reads 0 and push the knob

After changing the filament you can [[3dprinter:procedures:rundesign|run your design]] or [[3dprinter:procedures:poweroff|turn off the machine]]
